GORDANA MILJANSKI, MS
My love for food and enchantment with nutrition stems from my upbringing in Serbia, where I got to witness the work of people blessed with a gift of healing with herbs and natural foods. That awe of the body’s healing capacities, and fascination with the role of natural foods and nutrition in enabling the body to heal itself, captured and inspired me for years to come.
I went on in my pursuit to study the science of human physiology, pathophysiology, nutrition, biochemistry, nutritional therapeutics and so much more, which enabled me to finally do what I am here to do: help, through educating and guiding others to the nutrition that is right for THEM. My goal is not only to create the right nutritional plans, but also healthy eating habits – after all, we don’t benefit from what we know, we only benefit from the knowledge we USE.
Let’s work together to find what is right for you, eliminate what is bad for you, and create fun systems to make living your new, healthier life fun! Being healthy is not a diet – it is a lifestyle and it is a choice that you can make!
I live in Detroit, with my wonderful fiancée. I am blessed to be able to travel the world with him, learn about different cuisines, meet local people and get to know how food they eat and life they live impact their health. I am happy to be able to share the diversity of all that knowledge with you! Together, we can spice up your dinner plates and your lives!
“Every time you eat or drink, you are either feeding disease or fighting it.”

FAQS
Are you a Medical Doctor?
No, I am not. I am a clinical nutritionist, Functional Medicine practitioner. I work along with your doctor who is open for integrative health care. Therefore, I do not practice medicine and do not diagnose or treat diseases or medical conditions. I focus my practice on promoting health and optimal function. My services are not meant to substitute or replace those of a medical doctor but my programs are meant to work in conjunction with them.
Do you accept insurance?
Insurance may cover some lab testing but not services. My programs are considered above the standard of care and therefore elective as far as the insurance industry is concerned. I do offer payments plans if needed.
Do you prescribe or take off medications?
No. I do not prescribe or make recommendations about prescription medications or controlled substances. Your prescribing medical doctor will manage all medications. I use natural, noninvasive methods such as nutritional therapy, herbs, supplements, stress management techniques and lifestyle changes to address the underlying causes of disease and promote optimal function and health.
How do you see clients?
If you live in Detroit Metro area (Michigan), we can meet in person. Usually, my clients and I meet via Zoom, online. It is very easy, safe and convenient.
How long will my treatment last?
This depends on the complexity of your condition, how long you’ve had it, how much time, energy and attention you’re willing to devote to treatment, and how well you respond to treatment. My initial health program for lowering cholesterol, blood glucose, blood pressure or weight loss lasts for 3 months but most clients start seeing improvement within the first month. You may elect to continue with a maintenance program after your initial health program is finished.
How much will my treatment cost?
My goal is to work with people who are truly motivated to get better, who have come to the point when they are ready to live their healthy and happy life, who are ready to discover their best selves. As Marilyn Ferguson beautifully said: “Each of us guards a gate of change that can only be opened from the inside. We cannot open the gate of another, either by argument or emotional appeal.” It takes two to tango – I assess whether I believe I can truly help in each individual case, which is a prerequisite of my taking someone on as a client, and a big part of that is whether YOU are ready to work WITH me, not AGAINST me. Your efforts, your readiness for health, your persistence, and compliance are all integral parts of the treatment plan and essential conditions for success of the treatment. The more charge you have to leap forward, the better the results will be (and, consequently, the less consultations you will need)

How do I know if we can work together?
I offer an initial free webcam or phone call evaluation. This is our opportunity to learn about each other – I learn about you, your health history, and your health goals, and you learn about me – my approach, my methods, and can ask me any questions you may have.
What programs do you offer?
Aristotle said: “We are what we repeatedly do. Excellence, then, is not an act, but a habit.” Experience and practice leave no room for doubt that people get to their state of health or “unhealth” gradually, through repeating habits and patterns. Building new habits, not only in how we eat, but also in how we think about food, is the primary source of deriving true long term benefit and seeing real change, and that is always a process, requiring certain follow up to get to its maturity and self-sustainability. This cannot be achieved in one or two meetings, unfortunately. Most people see the greatest benefit in continuous support for a few months, so my program is designed for the duration of three months, which is the term my experience has shown to be the golden standard. More prolonged terms are also possible and discussed on an individual basis.
